Descripción
Sumario:In contexts of intense structural change like those seen in peri-urban spaces, families modify the volume and composition of their capital structure with the aim of improving their position in the social space, and by extension the conditions in which they reproduce. Based on a comparative, qualitative study, conducted in three peri-urban localities in central Mexico, we analyze how families modify their aspirations in the cultural sphere in response to changing conditions of the territory. Based on the theoretical approach of Pierre Bourdieu, we identify the factors that intervene in the development of practices which impact the cultural sphere, the modalities from which such practices are articulated with broader family strategies, and their possibilities of success or failure.
