The aim of this paper is to analyze and compare the scientific practices of academic teaching staff on the undergraduate degrees in Nutrition at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) and the Universidad Nacional el Litoral (UNL), Argentina, in relation to undergraduate training and academic dedication. This is a descriptive-transversal study, working with teachers on the undergraduate degrees in Nutrition at the UNC and UNL. The sample was taken at random. To gather information, a self-administered questionnaire was employed. The results show that the differences between scientific practices of the academic teaching staff at the institutions under study lie principally in the influence of the disciplinary tradition and style (Nutrition and Biochemistry) when considering actions and decisions to take regarding research activities at the university.En las universidades argentinas, las prácticas científicas de sus académicos poseen ciertos rasgos compartidos por todas las disciplinas, pero adquieren particularidades en cada una de ellas. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar y comparar las prácticas científicas de los académicos de las licenciaturas de Nutrición (LN) de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) y la Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL), Argentina, con relación a formación de grado y dedicación académica. El estudio es descriptivo transversal. Se trabajó con docentes categorizados de las Licenciaturas en Nutrición de la UNC y UNL. La muestra fue accidental por conveniencia. Para recoger la información se aplicó un cuestionario autoadministrado.
