Therefore, the eld of building construction has applied di erent o cial standards to try to regu- late the use of energy in the interior design adaptation of buildings. One of the main objectives of this work, is to design architectural spaces aimed to generate optimal comfort conditions, so users perform their activities e ciently. This is the main reason why the climate conditions of buildings have to be properly designed, calculated and controlled as well as the lightning in function of the activities, proper acoustics, and su cient ventilation, all of these with the lowest consump- tion of energy. The O cial Mexican Standard, NOM-020-ENER-2011-Energy e ciency in buildings, was developed to improve the thermal design of buildings within the residential sector, restraining the gain of heat from the enclosure. En México, como en muchos otros países del mundo, la situación energética ha permeado en la concientización de algunos sectores y se han comenzado a poner en marcha medidas para el buen uso y la optimización de la energía. En este orden, en el campo de la edificación se han instrumentado diversas normas o ciales para tratar de regular el uso de la energía en la adecuación dentro de las edificaciones. Uno de los principales objetivos al diseñar un espacio arquitectónico es que sea confortable para que el usuario realice sus actividades, por lo que se deben diseñar, calcular y controlar condiciones climáticas confortables, iluminación necesaria en función de la actividad, sonido adecuado, ventilación suficiente, utilizando el menor consumo de energía. La Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-020-ener-2011, Eficiencia energética en edificaciones, publicada en el Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF) el 9 de agosto de 2011, fue realizada con el fin de mejorar el diseño térmico de las edificaciones que se encuentren en el ámbito residencial, limitando la ganancia de calor por medio de la envolvente.
