| Sumario: | Predictions are a central element in Mayan culture, and they signify the historical synthesis of a way of thinking that can be related as cyclical time. Anchored in mythology but articulated in other forms of understanding reality, Maya thought is still present in a large part of the indigenous population in Yucatan, and can be distinguished from rationalist thought, characteristic of western peoples.
