Sumario:Epilepsy is a neurological disorder affecting 50 million people worldwide. It is defined by the presence of spontaneous seizures result of synchronous discharges of neuronal population due to abnormal dynamics of neural networks. In this paper we review the existing data on the role of inflammation / neuroinflammation in epilepsy.
