Descripción
Sumario:This study was developed in several periods from 2000 to 2005, in two commercial orchards of 'Hass' avocado in the municipalities of Tepic and Xalisco, Nayarit, Mexico. The objective was to determine the growth cycles of 'Hass' trees cultivated without irrigation. The cv. Development-floral, of bud closed to anthesis, in outbreaks of vegetative flow of winter and summer was of 11.5 months and 7.5 months respectively. The maximum yield of roots occurred in August. The maximum intensity (45%) of the "June fruit fall" occurred during the first summer rains (June). Growth of fruit length, from mooring (March) to harvest (November), lasted eight months. Annual averages of maximum air temperatures ranged from 26.8 to 33.4 ℃ and the minimums from 9.3 to 20.4 ℃. The soil moisture level was 85% from the rainy season (June to October) through December, followed by reaching 65% in May.
