| Sumario: | Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have gained significant popularity as versatil nanomaterials due to their antimicrobial properties. They are increasingly consider as a promising tool in agriculture for the phytopatogens management. Unlike traditional agrochemicals, AgNPs offer the advantage of in situ application in small quantities. Given the increasing use of AgNPs in recent years, it is important to evaluate their potential environment and human health risks. The aim of this study was to describe the bioethical implications associated with the application of AgNPs in the management of plant pathogens. We conducted a comprehensive review examining the principles of autonomy, justice, non-maleficence, and beneficence concerning to the use of AgNPs in the management of phytopatogens. Our approach involved a systematic analysis of qualitative information, drawing data from academic sources indexed in Google scholar, Scopus, and Scielo, with a publication date from 2015 to 2023. We managed this data in Mendeley Web and Desktop®. Scientific information suggest that AgNPs represent a promising option for effectively phytopatogens management due to their antimicrobial properties. However, it is important to study the mechanisms governing their migration to prevent the potential damage to human health and environment. Equally crucial is an adherence to established limits set by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for the acceptable daily intake for this metal. |
