Descripción
Sumario:The article addresses some of the territorial forms that have been built in communities in the north of the Mexican state, Chiapas, emphasizing the contemporary processes with which the inhabitants of these communities have had to continue building their territory. Phenomena such as small landholdings or the increase in international migration are problems experienced in these communities and they are related with the unresolved issue of land in Chiapas. Nevertheless, the changes and contemporary problems have not diminished the deep meanings that shape the ethnoterritories in these communities, anchored in the corpus of Mayan philosophy, such as the importance of collectivity and their relationship with the land.
