Sumario:Non-conventional foods are a source of great dietetic value in the raising of omnivorous and herbivorous species contributing to the production of fish at a low cost. Having this approach the behaviour of the red tilapia raising was determined as they are fed with different Lemna sp. flour as a part of their current food supplies. The experiment lasted 50 days and 300 16-day fingerlings were used with an initial weight of 1,3 to 1,5 g under a completely randomized design. Four groups were conformed for the inclusion levels of 0, 6, 12 and 18 % Lemna sp. meal. The main physical-chemical water factors and productive indicators were measured. The best results were obtained with the 12 % level of Lemna sp. meal with final weight of 10,52 g respectively and factor of conversion of 4,98. The inclusion of Lemna sp. and soy makes more profitable the production, because the stockings of the Economic Factor of Conversion are 974, 837, 720 and 680 dollars for ton of tilapia. All these facts allow to state that when including dehydrated Lemna sp. in the diet of red tilapia fingerling satisfactory productive results are obtained.
