| Sumario: | This paper revisits the category of social equation, which was initially introduced by Bolivian intellectual René Zavaleta Mercado. He developed this category while working on issues related to theState in Latin America. This article intends to reaffirm the relevance of this concept, given that it conjures out the intertwined relationship existing between a set mediating blocks operating in society and the State. Furthermore, this concept expands our understanding of the relationship between the government and the governed, allowing an understanding of the transformation inside the State, which tends to create a new hegemony. The construction of hegemony allows access to the political power, which reverberates in how groups participate in society. |
