Descripción
Sumario:This work develops a feasibility analysis of the metropolitan governance in Mexico. Above the theoretical approaches in the field of coordination and governance, there are de facto limitations that make metropolitan governance impossible. The argument is based on the difficulty of aligning interests, not only between the territorial units, but also between the political agendas of the actors involved. The theoretical approach is contrasted with the construction of metropolitan institutions in Guadalajara. The conclusion is that it is required an approach to ensure the coordination obligation and subordinate the interests of civil servants to the general metropolitan interest.
