Descripción
Sumario:The objective of this research was to describe the validation process of an instrument developed to measure positive family environments (POSFAM) in adolescents. It was based on the ecological model of positive family, made up of six interactions: educational, constructive, affective, cooperative, prosocial and economic. The scale was applied to a convenience sample of 227 students from a public high school in Sonora, Mexico, along with a subjective well-being scale to prove convergent validity. The content validity was tested by a panel of experts. The reliability was calculated resulting in a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.94. A second order confirmatory factor analysis was used for construct validity. Convergent validity was evidenced by the strength and direction of the correlations. The results showed that the (POSFAM) was confirmed by four factors and is valid to evaluate the positive family environment of adolescents with similar characteristics to those of the sample.
