In order to achieve this, two almost unknown documents of Fray Mariano López Bravo y Pimentel are analyzed. In them, he explained and justified the independence reasons based on counter-revolutionary arguments, and tried to make them reach King Fernando VII and the Spaniards.Este trabajo busca arrojar una mirada poco común sobre los procesos de las independencias hispanoamericanas desde el discurso de la reacción antiliberal. Se centra en el caso de Nueva España/México a comienzos de la década de 1820 en el contexto de una dinámica espacial y cronológica que remite a las realidades políticas de la monarquía católica.
