Descripción
Sumario:The simulation results of an isolated landfill cell are presented in this paper. It was controlled for three years and a half by the Waste Management Research Group of the University of Southampton (England). In order to simulate the cell, the municipal solid waste landfill simulation tool, Moduelo 4.0, developed by the Grupo de Ingeniería Ambiental (Environmental Engineering Group) of the University of Cantabria (Spain), was used. In this article the methodology used for the modelization and the suppositions and simplifications made to the original model to adapt to the simulated case are summarized. Finally, an analysis of the results obtained, a description of the problems found in the modelization process and proposals for the improvement of the program used are presented.
