We will outline their general characteristics and identify their strategies including some of their individual careers.Los trabajos históricos en torno a los hacendados yucatecos se han enfocado principalmente en la constitución y desarrollo de las oligarquías sobre todo en la época del henequén. Poco se conoce de los pequeños propietarios, quienes vivían en los pueblos y apenas poseían una modesta hacienda. Así, este trabajo pretende ser un primer acercamiento a este grupo en el periodo en que la hacienda comenzaba a desarrollarse, es decir, entre fines del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX.
