Descripción
Sumario:The city is a very complex ecosystem and the changesin our environment, where the occupation of areas with unstablestructures in areas susceptible to floods and landslides standsout, increase the possibility of affecting its physical structurein the face of events that are part of the hydrological cycleand the natural balance, turning these processes into threats tocommunities. The recent passage of Hurricane Otis allows us to reflect onthe relevance of considering the conditions of the geographicalspace in the planning of coastal urban areas, so, through abrief description of how human action and the alterationof cycles potentiated the effects of this meteorological event, the cartography of this hurricane in the port of Acapulco isdocumented. Although the development of vectorized and georeferencedcartography of a hurricane is a common tool of geographers, climatologists, or biologists, in urban space planning it is notfrequently used to explain and identify the factors and effectsthat climatological events have on settlements. For this reason, inthe document presented below, the importance of cartographyis emphasized in the multifactorial analysis that the currentclimate variability requires in the coastal urban space, sincethe analysis of cartography allows the understanding of thedynamics in the formation of intense meteorological systems, thus determining the effects.
