Sumario:This article aims to make an exploratory analysis of the actions carried out by the political parties in Colombia in relation to public archives management, transparency of information and the accountability in accordance with the provisions of Law 1712 of 2014 also known as Transparency Law. The later in order to identify the critical aspects in the application of the norm in the political parties, based on the complexity of their organization and representative functions of the performance within the political system. The main fndings are the degrees of compliance of obligations by the Colombian political parties and the points of tension between the conception of institutionalization proposed by the law and the role of the parties as agents of accountability.
