| Resumo: | Depression is a common mental health problem that impacts the quality of life of those who suffer from it; the application of evidence-based psychological treatments is a necessity due to the magnitude of this problem in terms of public health. Behavioral Activation (BA) could be an effective approach for the treatment of depression. The purpose of this work was: to analyze the methodological characteristics of the empirical studies reported in the meta-analyses published in the last 20 years. The search was performed in the databases: PubMed-Medline, Cochrane Library and Google Scholar. A total of 755 articles were identified which, after being screened by eligibility criteria, yielded four meta-analyses that concentrated sixty-seven empirical studies. The results show the analysis of the theoretical model, methodological design, and quality assessment. Future studies could conduct research with higher methodological quality to contribute to the empirical evidence of BA. |
