Descripción
Sumario:Based on the translation and comparative analysis of three short Nahuatl texts currently preserved in different manuscripts, this article reconstructs a part of the content that might have composed a work, known as the Manual del christiano, prepared by fray Bernardino de Sahagún and his indigenous collaborators. Taking a hitherto unpublished text in manuscript 1477 of the Biblioteca Nacional de México as an initial reference, the article highlights the difficulties of identifying and linking various works attributed to Sahagún and his circle. In addition, after examining the structure of this Manual, it is proposed that the work De laudabili vita coniugatorum by Denis Ryckel the Carthusian served as a model for two of these opuscules.
