Existen diversos estudios del impacto del cambio climático sobre los agroecosistemas cafetaleros, los cuales se abordan bajo diferentes enfoques que sugieren afectaciones directas e indirectas sobre la producción de café. Objetivo. Analizar los principales trabajos de investigación que se han realizado sobre el impacto del cambio climático en la producción de café en función de la vulnerabilidad, cambios de aptitud e idoneidad para la producción, plagas y enfermedades, percepción de los productores y las medidas de adaptación que se han implementado o propuesto para enfrentar este fenómeno. Implicaciones. En general, los resultados de las investigaciones vislumbran un panorama altamente negativo para la producción de café, pues el clima cambiante impondrá una mayor presión sobre este sistema de producción con consecuencias directas en los medios de vida del productor. Conclusión. Por la importancia socioeconómica que representa esta actividad para los países productores de café y la complejidad de los factores que influyen en la problemática, es necesaria mayor investigación aplicada que contribuya a entenderla mejor y coadyuve en la identificación de riesgos y amenazas para generar estrategias oportunas de adaptación y mitigación a los impactos potenciales del cambio climático.Background. Exist various studies of the impact of climate change on coffee agroecosystems, which are addressed under different approaches that suggest direct and indirect effects on coffee production. Objective. Analyze the main works that have been carried out on the impact of climate change on coffee production based on vulnerability, changes in aptitude and suitability for production, pests and diseases, perception of producers and adaptation measures that have been implemented or proposed to deal with this phenomenon. Implications. In general, the results of the investigations glimpse a highly negative panorama for the production of coffee, since the changing climate will impose a greater pressure on this production system with direct consequences on the livelihoods of the producer. Conclusion.
