Corrosion experiments were carried out by immersion of metallic substrates in a 3.5% NaCl solution. The effects of the degradation on the coating surfaces were analyzed using both optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. An important improvement in the protection was found after adding a small amount of conducting polymer to the epoxy resin paint.En este trabajo se compara la resistencia frente a la corrosión marina de diversas pinturas antes y después de ser modificadas por adición de un polímero conductor. Las propiedades físicas de las pinturas se caracterizaron mediante espectroscopia IR, análisis térmico y ensayos mecánicos. Los ensayos de corrosión se llevaron a cabo por inmersión de sustrato metálico en una disolución de NaCl 3.5%. La degradación superficial de los recubrimientos se analizó mediante microscopia óptica y microscopia electrónica de barrido. Los resultados muestran que la adición de una baja concentración de polímero conductor mejora de manera notable las capacidades anticorrosivas de la pintura compuesta por resinas epóxicas.
