| Sumario: | This article aims to recreate and analyze the strengthening ecclesiastical project undertaken by the Campeche Diocese between 1922 and 1925, as well as its disputes with civil authorities which eventually led to the conflict between Church and State in 1926. Based on a review of diocesan correspondence, the article argues that Bishop Francisco González Arias did sponsor diverse activities as temples building, secular organizing, and religious cult encouragement through initiatives such as the general consecrations since his arrival in 1922 up until his eviction in 1926. |
