Description
Summary:The engineers who hold management positions in maquila factories have to cope with staff responsibilities and their perfomance in personnel management is usually assessed, although quite little is known about the qualities that are assessed. This article reports the results of an exploratory factorial analysis (EFA) and a confirmatory factorial analysis (CFA) carried out by means of a questionnaire implemented to 271 engineering managers that contains 16 qualities. The authors found out that 5 factors explain 67.98 percent of the variability of all the qualities, which are related to their ability to communicate and implement working programs, to organize and carry out team work, to exert leadership and to negotiate plans.
