| Sumario: | The purpose of this paper is to find the most relevant variables in the perception of country risk for countries in the Americas, based on the variables in the index used by the Euromoney magazine. Therefore, first of all, through primary component and regression analyses, variables with the greatest capacity for ordering countries in the Americas according to risk level are established. Secondly, we use conglomerate analysis to classify those countries in homogenous groups, according to their country risk perception. This classification that is then validated through discriminants analysis, making it possible to establish the variables with the greatest classificatory capacity, or in other words, those with the greatest capacity to discriminate between previously obtained groups of countries. And the last step is to compare both groups of variables. |
