Sumario:Since its inception in 1987, the use of digital radiography has increased considerably due to the fact that it produces instant images, through a charging device inside an intraoral sensor, originating an immediate digital image on the monitor, although there is a great diversity of images. digital applications in the medical area, radiology is one of the most used (Queiroz and Montebello, 2004). There are two methods that result in a digital radiographic image: the digitalized radiographic image and the digital radiographic image, the first one, consists of the digitized image being obtained by scanning or photographing the image of a radiographic plate, converting this way an analog or conventional image in a digital image, while digital radiography is obtained by direct digital capture of the image to convert the x-rays directly to electronic signals. The advantage of this, is that by not using light in the conversion, the profile of the signal and resolution are highly accurate resulting in an image with high quality (Queiroz and Montebello, 2004).
