| Sumario: | Cracks in concrete, classified according to their thickness as fissures or cracks, are part of the structural calculation of any civil work since they are considered service limits. It is necessary to minimize or eradicate the formation of cracks in the concrete, to ensure the proper functioning of the designed structure, and to prevent future damage. Waterproofing agents, resin injections, pastes, and liquid and powder additives are used to mitigate these damages. This work highlights bio concrete as a repair agent for fissures and cracks in concrete structures subjected to compression and traction efforts. A bibliographic review on bio concretes for structural damage repair is presented: synthesis, properties, and applications. The advantages and disadvantages that help anticipate the appearance of these breaks are identified by using a bacterial agent to increase the self-repair capacity. |
