Descripción
Sumario:The goal of this paper is to broadly analyze the incipient outlook of digital citizenship in Mexico within the framework of the great restructuring processes of capitalism and the arduous transition towards democracy in the country, which is currently going through a process of transformation. The methodology employed is historical-structural analysis, applied by Latin American social sciences to study complex phenomena, and which considers social reality as a “relational whole” that functions and develops from different “dimensions,” which are articulated in the same sociohistorical framework. After broadly describing Mexico’s present scenario, the paper explores the main challenges currently faced by the construction and development of digital citizenship in the country.
