Disseminated in magazines and newspapers of the time, the three speeches reviewed here, solemn and elevated in tone, were delivered in the public square to raise spirits and propose a way of being and influencing social life. The guiding axis here is reviewing how the speaker addresses said youth, the ideas that he believes are relevant or even obligatory for them, as well as the forms, themes and motifs used to make his proposals attractive to them. In addition, the approach intends to show some changes in the ideological stance of this writer who was part of the decadent group and, later, also of the Mexican Youth Athenaeum, while reflecting on the nature of his harangues.En esta nota crítica se revisan tres arengas de Jesús Urueta (1867-1920), las cuales, a la distancia, se pueden interpretar como una guía o incluso como un ideario que el orador dictó a la juventud literaria mexicana de principios del siglo XX. Diseminados en revistas y periódicos de la época, los tres discursos que aquí se revisan, de tono solemne y elevado, se pronunciaron en la plaza pública para levantar los ánimos y proponer una forma de estar e incidir en la vida social. Revisar cómo el orador se dirige a los más jóvenes y las ideas que cree pertinentes o, incluso, obligatorias para ellos, además de las formas, temas y motivos que utiliza para que sus propuestas les sean atractivas es el eje rector que aquí se sigue.
