Description
Summary:To determine the environmental impact generated by the application of balanced feed in a snapper culture in floating cages in Bahía Chipehua, Municipality of Tehuantepec, in the State of Oaxaca, the results of the analysis of the oceanographic information obtained from October 2005 were used. October 2006. Additionally, from February 2006 to October 2006, evaluations were made of the percentage content of organic carbon (CO) and carbonates in the sediment, from the bottom surface to a depth of 16 cm at the same sampling points Hydrological The first sowing of snapper fattening cages was completed at the end of October 2005. As part of the fattening process, as of January 20, 2006, 1,238 kg of balanced feed had been applied in the growing area, a figure that was increased to 3,416 kg for June 7, 2006 and 5,108 kg for September 22, 2006. Because of the particularly difficult sea conditions during 2006, there is no hydrological or sediment monitoring data for the months of January and June of the same year. According to the records obtained, the study area has been characterized by an intense and permanent hydrodynamic activity that generates an almost homogeneous body of water.
