First of all, a brief review was made about the scientific development during different periods up to transdisciplinarity. It was determined that librarianship has two modes in which transdisciplinarity occurs. The first is through professional practice and the second is through the reconstruction of his own theoretical body where librarians can rethink their principles and adapt to changes in the environment. On the other hand, how the librarian can be a transdisciplinary professional was identified, therefore librarianship reconfigures himself to have a much more integral formation in society and as an individual. It is concluded that the transdisciplinarity implemented in librarianship and the work of its professionals develops over time.En la presente investigación se examinó el proceso transdisciplinar dentro de la Bibliotecología y sus reconstrucciones e implicaciones en el bibliotecólogo. Para lograr estos objetivos se utilizó el método hermenéutico y el método de investigación documental con los cuales se analizaron e interpretaron los textos con la finalidad de argumentar las propuestas que se presentan en esta investigación. En primer lugar, se hizo un breve recuento referido al desarrollo científico durante diferentes épocas, hasta llegar a lo que es la transdisciplinariedad. Se determinó que la Bibliotecología tiene dos modos en los que se da la transdisciplinariedad: el primero es por medio de la práctica profesional y el segundo es a través de la reconstrucción de su propio cuerpo teórico, donde es posible volver a plantear sus postulados y adaptarse a los cambios que surjan en el entorno. Por el otro lado, se identificó la manera en la que el bibliotecólogo puede ser un profesional transdisciplinar, puesto que se va reinventando y no cumple únicamente con un solo rol dentro de la disciplina; dicho lo anterior, el bibliotecólogo se reconfigura con el propósito de tener una formación mucho más integral en la sociedad y como individuo.
