| Resumo: | This article discusses the question of the relationship between mathematics and physical theories when it comes to establishing a connection between external reality and the theory that it describes and represents. I propose that such a connection exists but in the case of classical physics is a link that is carried out by means of spatial intuition. But not any type of space but only the space of Euclidean geometry, which corresponds to the space of our perception, so that physical was able to provide a description of physical objects where it is not doubted that these were as described them he theory: it´s the classic postulate of the isomorphism between theory and reality through the ideal of the pictorial representation. A course that led inevitably to a naïve realism from which there was no reason to doubt that the theory described the reality as it is in itself. This situation will change with the advent of quantum physics. |
