Descripción
Sumario:The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between inflation and gasoline prices in Mexico, particularly in periods of high volatility. Markov regime-switching models are used to examine this relationship. Additionally, the implications of the results for national economic policy are discussed, concluding that subsidies provided by the federal government have a direct impact on containing general inflation, but the limitations of the study should be taken into account.
