| Resumo: | The main characteristics of the expansion strategies of South Korea are described, emphasizing the creation of the chaebol or great conglomerates composed mainly around industrial activities, which were the key to impulse strategic industries. Some differences are pointed out regarding the "Japanese process" in order to subsequently analyze Japanese and Korean investment location strategies in the North of Mexico, the last two basically from the presence of two large firms; Samsung and Daewoo, the same which are moving their suppliers from Asian countries. The central idea of this work is to provide the elements to reflect about why, in the case of Mexico, the attempts to incorporate local suppliers for the multure export industry have failed. |
