Sumario:Gerontological tourism is a sixty-year segment and more that it carries out activities outside its usual environment to occupy and enjoy its free time in order to meet and enjoy tourist sites motivated by relaxation, rest and cultural activities. This segment represents a potential niche by the economic spill that generates in destinations in a timeless manner characterized by experienced individuals who require specialized services such as food, health, accessibility, security and infrastructure, as well as travel-promotion programs. It is for these characteristics that tourism service providers require preparedness to meet a growing segment and will become a short-term requirement for national and international tourism, so professionalization is an alternative to adapt services and facilities, combined with the multidisciplinary participation that sector planning requires in the near future. This research work assumes the demand for professionalization, through a theoretical and empirical sustenance to determine the accessibility needs in the tourism sector, is carried out by conceptualizing the subject of study and statistics that allow the identification of requirements to meet the problems of the tourism sector by making a theoretical perspective through a descriptive method. In such a way that the objective is to identify the professionalization needs of tourist service providers to meet the gerontological population for the development of projects and products specialized in the old population.
