| Sumario: | Alternatives for production have been sought in cultivation systems without low soil cover, as is the use of organic and inorganic substrates. Therefore, the general objective of the present investigation was to evaluate substrates based on vermicompost, tezontle, jal and rice husk mixed or unmixed in different proportions in growth, Coriander yield and quality in two production cycles. This investigation led to carried out in four phases. In the first phase the physical properties (porosity) were evaluated total, aeration capacity, and moisture retention capacity) and chemical (potential hydrogen and electrical conductivity) of five earthworms. In phase two, carry out the preparation and characterization of mixtures of the substrates: tezontle, jal and cascarilla of rice with the selected vermicompost in different proportions. Later selected the best proportions, which were: 100% for vermicompost, tezontle and jal, and vermicompost: tezontle, jal or rice husk at 80:20, 65:35 and 20:80. These were used in phase 3, in which the experiment of the first cycle of production with cultivation of coriander "Pakistan". At 10, 20 and 30 days after transplant (DDT) growth variables and SPAD readings were evaluated; at 20 DDT it determined the nutritional content, content of total phenols, flavonoids and activity antioxidant; also at 3, 6, 9 and 12 days after the cut (DDC) the loss was analyzed weight, shelf life and color under 5 ºC. In phase four the second production cycle and the variables evaluated in the first cycle were evaluated. I know considered an 11 x 2 factorial arrangement, in a completely randomized experimental design. It was found that the substrates that included vermicompost with proportions at 80 and 65 % in combination of the first production cycle, favored growth, yield and nutritional content in coriander plants, also the color response was better; however they presented the highest weight losses. While these same substrates, together with those that included vermicompost at 20% in combination with the second cycle, they obtained a higher content of total phenols, although it was not the same response in flavonoid content and antioxidant activity. It was concluded that the first production cycle (October 1, 2013 - October 30, 2013) was the best, since the highest growth was obtained in all the substrates,yield, nutritional content of phosphorus and potassium, as well as better color in coriander plants, compared to the second cycle (February 5, 2014 - December 6, March 2014). While in the second cycle, the response was greater in content of total phenols and flavonoid content, but not antioxidant activity. |
