| Resumo: | In recent years, remittances have been an important source of income for the country, even being considered as the second source of income (Urciaga, 2006). In addition, remittances represent one of the main items of current transfers in the balance of payments and constitute a real injection of economic resources in specific sectors of the regional and local economies. Although only a small proportion of remittances are saved and used for productive investment, they have aroused great political and social interest as a potential source of financing for regional development (Canales, 2004). Nayarit is one of the states of the Mexican Republic considered among the traditional migratory zone, also with higher levels of emigration, becoming in recent years an entity that captures remittances (CONAPO, 2002).1 Simultaneously, it is also an entity that in recent years is becoming a strong attraction especially for workers in the branches of construction and tourism on the south coast of Nayarit. |
