Sumario:This paper exposes a review on the relationship between psychological and subjective well.being, positive emotions, optimism, meaning in life, and quality of life, in the light of the contributions of the Positive Psychology. The results of the research show that well-being and happiness are positively related with the promotion of physical and psychological health, and with the prevention of risk behaviours. The promotion of health an quality of life is a social and political need of first order, and an objective of a society concerned with the wellbeing of its citizens.
