Descripción
Sumario:This study explores the classical humanist notion of the relationship between architecture and nature through the theory, architecture and drawings of Andrea Palladio, along with his theoretical sources, especially those of Daniele Barbaro. In the Italian Renaissance, this relationship was deftned on the basis of the classical renovation, understood in terms of the imitation of nature, and of the texts and monuments of Antiquity. Also discussed is the importance of Palladio’s conception and critical awareness with regard to the application of the nature-architecture dialectic as a paradigm of the interrelation between design, form, beauty, space, locus, landscape and territory.
