| Resumo: | It is a common assertion among analysts of economic globalization that the relationship between the planet's economic regionalisms and subregionalisms and globalization is not one of adversity but of conversion toward it. However, the question remains as to whether these processes - globalization and regionalism - are actually moving in the same direction, since, according to the meaning of the terms, one (globalization) indicates an action of reunification, while regionalism means division or separation of the parts of a whole. In this study we attempt to respond to this concern and analyze the characteristics of regionalisms such as that of the Americas and that of the Pacific Basin, since their comparison will give us a guideline to know in which direction each of them is developing, i.e., that each of them is developing. direction in which each of them is developing, i.e., whether they are inclusive or exclusive. It is also intended to know what are the characteristics of their meta-regime, liberalism, if there are other motivations or logics in their actors, besides the economic ones, and if they are on the right path to establish a new world order. The monograph is divided into two parts: in the first, the broader part, we will analyze the characteristics of regionalism in the Americas and Asia Pacific; in the second, neoliberalism in regional integration. |
