Descripción
Sumario:Assessing teacher's performance in the university. This text synthesizes the most important characteristics of teacher's performance assessment in Mexico Citie's public universities. It also synthesizes some positive issues that could very well be adopted. This type of assessment is universal and is associated with programs of financial compensation and certification, thus confirming the influence of assessment public policies. Assessment of teacher's performance is predominant through student's opinions and questionnaires, and it implies a high degree of specialization of technical knowledge from those who assume such responsibility, and this is why universities should facilitate the participation of specialists and the development of ad hoc professional training programs. Assessment efforts linked to institutional actions taken to support academicians in the bettering of their teacher’s performance are still scarce. T his text proposes some actions directed to improve the assessment processes in use.
