This article provides an overview of the Programme over five decades, to be held in 2024, with the aim of understanding its magnitude and scope, exposing its background; These figures show the importance it has acquired over time, the main problems and the importance of both governments for the programme to endure over time and administrative changes, which often put policies and programmes such as this one into play.Cincuenta años ininterrumpidos de mantener un programa se reconocen como un gran esfuerzo binacional.  De 1974 a 2023, casi medio millón de personas han participado en el Programa de Trabajadores Agrícolas Temporales entre México y Canadá (PTAT), con los granjeros canadienses que requieren mano de obra y los trabajadores mexicanos que desean mejores oportunidades.
