| Sumario: | From ancient times the Aztecs used plants and herbs to cure numerous diseases; At present the modern pharmacopoeia uses vegetal elements in the elaboration of medicines. However, natural medicine is the simplest, least risky and most cost-effective way to alleviate acute conditions that occur in humans without resorting to industrial drugs or surgical interventions. It is well documented on the nutritional and medicinal properties of numerous fruits, vegetables and seeds; As well as herbs, wild plants, shrubs and trees, of which stems, leaves, inflorescences, bark and fruits are used for the preparation of infusions, oils or extracts for the treatment of various infectious and degenerative diseases. The nanche (Byrsonima crassifolia) of the botanical family of the Malpigiaceae, is widely distributed in the tropics and subtropics of Mexico, where it has received different names vulgar according to the region where it is found. It is called changunga (Mich.), Chengua (Mich.), Chi (Maya language, Yuc.), Huízaa (Zapoteca, Oax.), Mamiña (Chinanteca language, Oax.), Nance And Nay), nanchi (Gro.
