Sumario:This analysis of the work of Professor Roberto Antonio Gordillo Gordillo is offered in the spirit of paying respect to the pioneers of Mexican Library Science. Not intended as a biography, this paper provides and overview of the writings and academic lectures of this important figure. Professor Gordillo was a notable teacher of professional library specialists and promoter of professional associations, including the Mexican Library Association and the National College of Librarians. In the history of Mexican library science, Professor Gordillo is a worthy representative and one of its keypillars.
