Descripción
Sumario:This article seeks, first, to contextualize an anonymous satirical poem, unknown until now, which appeared titleless in Guadalajara on 12 November 1750. Second, it offers a modernized edition of the poem with annotations. The poem in question is a political satire directed against the contemporary authorities in the Royal Court of Guadalajara, pointing out the corruption of officials and their enrichment at the expense of others. In general, I argue that the poem could be explained by the discontent of the time; in particular, I indicate the clues which suggest that the person who wrote was close to the clergy, to the town council or to the major landholders of the region.
