Descrição
Resumo:This paper seeks to examine the exercise of substantive representation by Mexican women legislators and to explore the relationship between descriptive and substantive representation of women in the Mexican political arena. The paper evidences the patterns in the presentation and approval of feminist initiatives, showing that, although women present the majority of feminist initiatives and their presence in the legislature contributes to the articulation of women's interests, this articulation is limited to only certain agendas and does not always correspond to progressive perspectives or solutions.
