Descripción
Sumario:This is an exploratory analysis of China's role in mitigating the European sovereign debt crisis, with an emphasis on Spain. The reasons for the choice are the importance of the crisis in the Mediterranean, the orientation of the government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero towards that country and the effects that the bilateral relationship could have on Latin America due to the China-Spain-Latin America triangulation policy. It has two parts: the first part explains the Spanish debt problem in the context of the Eurozone; the second part takes into account trade and investment with China, which makes it possible to establish the reasons why Madrid resorts to China as a buyer of its debt.
