| Sumario: | [eng] Progress in the knowledgement on the fossil birds from the Balearic Islands. A summarised update of the knowledges on fossil birds from the Balearic islands is presented. In the last ten years, a considerable increasing of paleornithological information accounted. Several new taxa have been described (e.g., Scolopax carmesinae SEGUÍ 1999, Pica mourerae SEGUÍ 2001, Pterodromoides minoricensis SEGUÍ et al. 2001, Camusia quintanai SEGUÍ 2002), the faunistic lists considerably increased and the palaeocological study of the bird communities started. |
