| Sumario: | In this project, a new software called “Feixos19” is developed to allow defining the experimental conditions to calibrate protection monitors or to irradiate passive dosemeters with gamma beams in the calibration and dosimetry laboratory of the “Institut de Tècniques Energètiques” (INTE) of UPC. At the beginning of this project, the metrology, especially metrology for ionizing radiation, is introduced with basic concepts of dosimetry and radiation protection. More ahead, this project describes the calibration and dosimetry laboratory of the INTE, as an example of a calibration laboratory, and how this laboratory calibrates the radiation protection monitors with gamma beams. Next, it is explained how to calibrate gamma beams with a practical example. Finally, it is described the basis, the subsequent development and the consequent elaboration of “Feixos19”. |
