Plantea un hábitat hostil hacia todo lo orgánico e, innova, con su arquitectura y trazado, el concepto tradicional de cárcel o presidio, apuntando hacia la problemática futura que generaron las grandes urbes y metrópolis. Pensamos que la experiencia de lo siniestro emerge gracias a la asociación del fondo con todo lo inanimado formando un paisaje interior que parece haber sido dotado de vida y que amedrenta a toda la materia viva que contiene. Además, creemos que estas imágenes resultan realmente actuales en tanto que pudieran formar parte de la puesta en escena de films distópicos posmodernos. Intentaremos demostrar estas hipótesis a lo largo de este artículo mediante el análisis textual de las Carceri d’ivenzioni.The space represented in the etchings Carceri d’ivenzioni (1745-1760) by Giovanni Battista Piranesi seems to surround and dissolve the human figure. It sets up a hostile and beligerant habitat towards all living things by introducing changes in the traditional concept of prison using fathomless depths and endless spaces. The uncanny sensation arises due to the association of the background with all inanimate things in the frame, forming an interior landscape that seems to have been endowed with life, therefore, It intimidates all living matter it contains. In addition, we might also point out that these images are quite current. Hence, they could be part of any postmodern dystopian film production.
