Descripción
Sumario:[EN] During Roman Late Republic the Ager Faliscus has been a place of great experimentation of technologies for managing and exploiting water resources. A complex system of land division has been based on waterways, «rivi finales» as written on the Liber Coloniarium in regard of Faleri Novi. The Romans managed this land, characterized by gorges and streams, through numerous dykes, bankings and terraces. This process led to an extension of the arable land and the conservation of riverbanks. A comparison between the agrarian works and the main bridges and road infrastructures of the viae consulares Flaminia and Amerina, possible thanks to similar building techniques, suggests a global reorganization of the whole Faliscan area in the aftermath of the Roman conquest.
